OIS encourages students to participate in our After School Activities (ASA) Program. Whether your child is in elementary school, middle school, or high school, the ASA Program offers a wide variety of activities to help all students explore their interests. We invite members from the local community to operate our ASA Program in order to give students more choices and opportunities to pursue lessons beyond our formal curriculum.
The ASA Program enriches the students’ learning experience in many ways! Here are some of the benefits and reasons to participate in the ASA Program.

Our current After School Activities (ASAs) include:
Current ASA Offerings
Students will develop skill sets, mental strength, physical fitness and character as they play football.
Students will learn the disciplines and moves associated with Taekwondo.
Students will develop the skills related to badminton.
Students will exercise in the CrossFit gym with age-appropriate workouts.
Students will be challenged physically and mentally to develop perseverance in order to fulfill personal goals through sport. The goal is for students to compete in a mini- triathlon (Second Semester) & duathlon (First Semester) in the KL area by the end of the year and develop interpersonal and communication skills with other students. Students will need to bring their own bike.
Students will learn to know all the parts of the guitar, from frets to strings, and learn how to tune their instrument. They will explore the fundamentals of music notation and find out how to produce clear, beautiful notes, open guitar chords, strumming patterns and a music theory-based approach to scales and arpeggios. They will also discover how to control rhythm, tempo, dynamic, and how to express themselves artistically. The guitar skills that they acquire will enable them to play and learn any style of music.
Students will learn all about the ukulele, from how to hold the instrument, how to tune their instrument, basic chords and fingerings. They will explore the fundamentals of music notation and find out how to produce clear, beautiful notes, open ukulele chords, and strumming patterns. They will also discover how to control rhythm, tempo, dynamic, and how to express themselves artistically. The ukulele skills that they acquire will enable them to play and learn any style of music.
Brass Instrument Lessons
Students from 3rd-8th grade will work to advance their musical knowledge and fundamental skills with brass instruments including trombone, baritone, trumpet and/or french horn. Musical experience is preferred but not required.
High School Art
Students will explore different art methods such as Printmaking, Painting, and Mixed Media. Emphasis will be placed on exploring new techniques while building high quality artworks for a studio portfolio. High School students will answer questions such as: How can I communicate using art? How can I use my art to make a positive impact in the community around me?
Secondary iPad Art
Students will be using the ProCreate app and dive into the world of iPad art. Throughout this activity, students will answer questions such as, how can I use my iPad to create high quality art? What is art? How can I express my creativity using an iPad and digital media? Students will explore using different styluses such as the Apple Pencil.
Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
Students will explore engineering, pre-programming, and problem solving through developmentally appropriate games and activities.
Jr Chef: Snacks
Jr. Chefs will be introduced to the basics of cooking including reading a recipe, accurate measurement, mixing ingredients, and kitchen safety. They will make a variety of sweet and savory snacks integrating the importance of balanced eating for good nutrition.
Students will join a community of young global citizens who are using their knowledge, skills, and creativity to make a positive impact in the world.
