OIS believes in an environment that facilitates learning for the whole child. Both our digital and physical spaces have been designed with student learning as the goal. We designed our digital spaces to provide increased communication and transparency between school and home. These digital spaces, including our learning management system, help students to direct their own learning as they have real-world experiences, build a sense of self-efficacy, and ultimately, become a lifelong learner. Our physical learning spaces are flexible, giving teachers the opportunity to arrange their classrooms and other spaces around learning tasks. With 12 acres, teachers have the opportunity to take students outside, creating more meaningful learning experiences for their students. Take a look at our incredible facilities!
The elementary school program at OIS is designed for our youngest students to build a strong foundation of knowledge, critical thinking skills, and leadership ability. The elementary school is organized by grade level and has a maximum capacity of 15 students per class in Kindergarten and 25 students per class in 1st through 5th grade.
Middle and High School Classrooms
The middle school program at OIS has been developed specifically for young adolescents and is designed to build on students’ content knowledge and social skills. These three vital years, 6th to 8th grade, are designed to equip students as they prepare for high school.
The high school program at OIS consists of four years of study, 9th through 12th grade, and is designed to prepare students for university. High school is organized by grade level and has a maximum capacity of 25 students per class.
The Launch Pad is an innovative learning space including a maker space, 3D printer, green screens, iMacs, and more. This space was designed to teach our students to not simply consume technology but instead, to leverage the power of technology for creation.
The Learning Lab
The Learning Lab is a space designed to instill in our students a love of reading and equip them with the literacy skills necessary for the future.
The gymnasium includes two full basketball courts, a weight lifting area, classrooms, and locker rooms. Students have the opportunity to explore physical education in many ways!
Performing Arts Center
The Performing Arts Center (PAC) includes a gallery space as well as a 300-seat auditorium, and is used to showcase student learning and performances in art, music, and drama. Additionally, the PAC provides a gathering place for larger events and assemblies on campus.
